Well, now that its consistently 90+ degrees out each day I finally finished the boys' pea coats. We'll see if they get an opportunity to wear them before they grow out of them. I'm somewhat pleased with how they turned out. I think I've learned that in some cases less is more. I like Charlie's much more than Carson's. But Carson likes his coat and in the end that's all that matters.

Project Picnic Blanket
So, 10 years ago shortly after Tony and I got married I started saving our worn out jeans to make a denim quilt. After the jeans sitting in the top of our closet for years ( I am not exaggerating) I finally cut them up into quilt squares. After the squares had been sitting in a box for a few more years (again not exaggerating) and a move to Rexburg I re-cut the squares so they were actually square and they sat for another year (still not exaggerating) I finally sewed up the squares into a quilt top. The quilt top sat downstairs in the sewing/storage room for a few months awaiting the bottom. I bought this stripped polyester fabric at Walmart for $1 a yard a couple months ago, which was the right price to finish this project. Yesterday I tied it and today I did the binding. So after many, many years this project is finally finished! Yeah!!!!!!!! And the best part it actually looks good, Alaina has already asked if we could go on a picnic to break it in.

1st Place
Carson had his first Pinewood Derby this year. Tony and he labored for many hours on his "The King" themed car from the movie Cars. It turned out awesome looking and turned out to be pretty fast! It even survived "the loops of death" they attached to the track after the races! Carson has a blast (no surprise there) and won first place!

The standings. The 182.6 mph is a ratio speed to full sized race cars.
Carson with his certificate and trophy. It was a great night and one that I'm sure he will always remember.
Our Garden
Our garden is really doing great so far. The plants are even bigger now, plus I've added pepper and tomato plants. I love having a garden and can't wait for all the fresh produce.

Idaho Ballroom Academy Year End Concert
Carson participated in the IBA dance clinic again this year. He loves it and even told me that he wished he had dance everyday! The concert was great again this year. Carson had a good time, he was just a bit bummed that he had to dress up as a dalmatian puppy. His group did the Cha Cha to Cruella Di Ville.
