The last few days Charlie has been a bit of a pain to get to go to sleep. It used to be that all I had to do was sing him a song and then lay him down with his silky blankets and he'd go to sleep. The last two nights I've had to lay down with him until he's fallen asleep and then move him to his crib. Today I laid him down for a nap and 30 minutes later I went to check on him and cover him up (he likes to throw everything out of his crib in protest) to find that he was wide awake and had been playing. I let him up and put him back down a few hours later. Again 30 minutes after I had laid him down I went to check on him and cover him up and this is what I found. Yes, he is asleep sitting in the corner of his crib. I swear my kids sleep in the most unusual positions. So funny!

Another Skirt for Alaina
One nice thing about Maegen not having a girl of her own yet, Alaina gets these super cute cloths! Maegen made this skirt out of scraps we combined together. Alaina has already worn it 3 times in the last 2 weeks. She is definitely a skirt and dress kind of girl.

Mission Flashbacks
Tony served a mission in South Carolina. And yes, it really is this green there!
This tree is called the Angel Oak. That is Tony standing in front of the tree. If you notice there are beams and cables holding up some the limbs. I don't remember how old it is, but this thing is massive!

It's only fair to share some of flashbacks from High School
This is Me and my friend. We were in the play "Much Ado about Nothing".
When I was a Junior I was in "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat" with Music Theater of Idaho. I'm the one on the right.
This is my group of friends from middle/high school. We were all in the same Sunday School class at church too. From left to right, Tawna Richards, Kamron Eck, Andrew Smyth, Me, Myranda Koyle, and Jason Laney.

Tony at 4 months old
Tony at 4 years old
Tony and Batman. I'm thinking he's about Carson's age here.
Tony the Scout.
Tony the drummer.
Tony the missionary.

Words of Love
As a wedding present my bridesmaid and Tony's cousin Bonnie put together a wall hanging. It had a picture of us with a note from each of us listing the reasons why we loved each other. I updated it a bit. Added pictures of us from the last 10 years and I listed reasons of why I still love Tony.
Tony went out to get himself some lunch today. I thought to myself that it took a bit longer than usual, but thought nothing more about it. He called me a few minutes later from work and said that he thought he'd left his phone in the truck and asked me to go check. Sitting on the front seat were these beautiful flowers! He is so sneaky!

Cold Snap and 2013
I guess this is what -10 degrees looks like. This is the inside, yes the inside, of our kitchen window! When I left at 7:45 this morning to take Carson to school it was -10 degrees. Makes me wonder how cold it really got last night! Our high is supposed to be a whopping 9 degrees. Oh, brrrrrr!
2013
With it being the beginning of a new year I wanted to share some goals of mine for this year. Maybe this will keep me a bit more accountable for my success or lack of.
Start exercising on a consistent basis. I'd like to start running. There is an indoor track up at the University so I can't use the cold as an excuse to not go. When the weather turns warm I'd like to do some biking. Now that I have a helmet. And I'm hoping to save up my plasma money to buy a bike trailer for Charlie.
Better eating. I want to start cutting down on my portion sizes, eat more fruits and vegetables, and drink more water.
Read my scriptures. When I was a teenager I read my scriptures and wrote in my journal pretty much every night. These years were some of the best in my life. I want that feeling back again. So I'm going to read my scriptures every day. I haven't decided when the best time will be yet or if I'm going to focus on a certain body of scripture. I'll have to keep you posted.
Here is to a new year!
